چکیده

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) positioning accuracy indoor and urban canyons environments are greatly affected by multipath due to distortions in its autocorrelation function. In this paper, a cross-correlation function between the received sine phased Binary Offset Carrier (sine-BOC) modulation signal and the local signal is studied firstly, and a new multipath mitigation method based on cross-correlation function for sine-BOC signal is proposed. This method is implemented to create a cross-correlation function by designing the modulated symbols of the local signal. The theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed method exhibits better multipath mitigation performance compared with the traditional Double Delta Correlator (DDC) techniques, especially the medium/long delay multipath signals, and it is also convenient and flexible to implement by using only two correlators, which is the case of low-cost mass-market receivers.

Unambiguous Tracking Method Based on Combined Correlation Functions for sine/cosine-BOC CBOC and AltBOC Modulated Signals

Unambiguous tracking for Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulated signals is an important requirement of modern Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers. An unambiguous tracking method based on combined correlation functions for even/odd order sine/cosine-BOC, Composite BOC (CBOC) and Alternate BOC (AltBOC) modulated signals is proposed. Firstly, a unified mathematical formulation for a...

A Method of Side-peak Mitigation Applied to Binary Offset Carrier Modulated Gnss Signals Tracking Applied in Gnss Receivers

In this study, a new method of signal tracking technique in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is proposed. It is based on a combination of the autocorrelation function (ACF) with another cross correlation function in order to eliminate or reduce the power of the side peaks in ACF of Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulated signals. These types of modulated signals are adopted by both GNSSs...

A Design Method of Code Correlation Reference Waveform in GNSS Based on Least-Squares Fitting

The multipath effect is one of the main error sources in the Global Satellite Navigation Systems (GNSSs). The code correlation reference waveform (CCRW) technique is an effective multipath mitigation algorithm for the binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signal. However, it encounters the false lock problem in code tracking, when applied to the binary offset carrier (BOC) signals. A least-squares a...

Unambiguous Synchronization Scheme for GNSS BOC(n, n) Signals

Galileo and Modernized GPS have included in their signal structures a new signal modulation: the Binary Offset Carrier (BOC), which multiplies a spreading code with a square wave sub-carrier. It creates a split spectrum with two main lobes shifted from the center frequency by sub-carrier. This modulated signal induces better tracking in white noise and better inherent multipath mitigation compa...

Sidelobes Cancellation Method for Unambiguous Tracking of Binary-offset-carrier Modulated Signals

The signals proposed for the future European Galileo system and the GPS M-code signals use split-spectrum-type modulations, such as Binary-Offset-Carrier (BOC) modulation. Sine and cosine BOC modulations multiply the spreading code with rectangular sub-carriers and create a split-spectrum signal with the main lobes shifted around the sub-carrier frequency. This type of modulation brings multipl...
